Course overview
Most cyber incidents start with a person, not a machine. This online course gives every employee the practical habits that stop common attacks, and it pays special attention to the way criminals now use artificial intelligence to make scams more convincing.
You learn how AI-written phishing messages, cloned voices and deepfake video are used to trick staff into sending money or sharing data, and how to verify a request before you act. You then work through phishing and social engineering, strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, software updates and safe remote work.
A dedicated module covers the safe use of generative AI tools at work: what never to paste into a chatbot, how to check AI output and why your organization needs an AI policy. The final module explains how to handle personal information, what to do when something goes wrong and the basics of breach reporting under Canadian privacy law.
No technical background is needed. The course is general education and not legal or IT advice, and your own security policies always come first.
