These terms apply when you use chartercomplianceacademy.com, create an account or buy an on demand online course from us. Please read them before you enrol.
1Who we are
Charter Compliance Academy ("we", "us") operates chartercomplianceacademy.com and creates on demand online compliance courses for professionals and organisations in Canada. You can reach us at info@chartercomplianceacademy.com.
2Eligibility and your account
You need an account to take a course. Keep your login details private and make sure your registration details are accurate, because the name on your account is the name printed on your Certificate of Completion. You are responsible for activity on your account.
3Courses and access
Each course is an on demand online course made up of lessons, module quizzes and a final assessment. Unless a course page says otherwise, you get lifetime access to the course for as long as we offer it on this site. Course content is general education about Canadian requirements. It is not legal, financial or professional advice.
4Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle calculates and collects any applicable sales taxes, such as GST, HST or QST, at checkout and issues your receipt. Organisations buying for a team may also pay by invoice when we agree this in writing.
5Cancellation and refunds
Our Refund Policy explains when you can get a refund, including our 14-day satisfaction guarantee. Approved refunds for online orders are issued by Paddle to your original payment method.
6Certificate of Completion
When you complete all lessons and pass the final assessment, you receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Charter Compliance Academy. It records that you completed an on demand online course. It is not a professional licence, designation or accreditation, and it is not issued or approved by any government body or regulator. Employers decide whether a course meets their own requirements.
7Intellectual property and licence
All course content, including text, videos, quizzes and graphics, belongs to Charter Compliance Academy. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use a course for your own learning. You may not copy, share, resell or publish course content, or share your account with others. Team licences cover the named learners only.
8Acceptable use
Do not misuse the site, attempt to access other accounts, interfere with the service, upload harmful code, or use automated tools to copy content or complete assessments.
9Disclaimer
We work hard to keep courses accurate and up to date, but laws and guidance change. Courses are provided for general education. You remain responsible for your own compliance, and you should check the official texts or get professional advice for your situation.
10Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about a course is limited to the amount you paid for that course. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
11Availability and changes to courses
We may update, improve or replace course content to keep it current. We aim to keep the site available at all times but cannot promise uninterrupted access.
12Suspending your account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing logins or copying content. Where appropriate, we will tell you why first.
13Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws that apply at our place of business, without affecting any mandatory rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern quickly.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
