Course overview

Every organisation in Ontario with one or more employees has to train its people on the AODA accessibility standards and on the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities. This online course covers both in one sitting.

You start with why the AODA exists and how the Integrated Accessibility Standards fit together. You then work through the customer service standard in practical terms: welcoming assistive devices, service animals and support persons, giving notice of service disruptions and responding to feedback.

The second half focuses on the Human Rights Code: what disability means under the Code, the duty to accommodate to the point of undue hardship, and how to respond when someone asks for an accommodation. Short scenarios show what good service and good management look like.

The course is written for Ontario workplaces of every size. It is not legal advice, and your own accessibility policies always come first.
